Jon Wendell came up with the idea for this ride. He is the one we will blame when we can’t walk for two weeks. He is on the top of the “Americas Most Wanted: Cool Dudes that Girls Want to Take Home to Meet Their Parents” list. He is an employee at Apple, which automatically makes him cooler than pretty much anyone, though his TEVA sandals would tell you otherwise. He loves people and is rocking a Schwinn Madison. He is a part of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church and likes to rock. His beard has a trap door that leads to his stomach- like a 2nd mouth.
How to pray for Jon: that his heart would continue to beat more and more for the hurting, he has a best friend who was recently in a bad accident and is in a coma- pray for his healing. He has been working his way through Knox Theological Seminary- pray his brain grows and that his heart can keep up.
Favorites: Bunny rabbits, reading, asking difficult questions, micro-brews and slow dancing.
Ryan Alexander is infamous for having terrible hair and terrible hats. He is cool with that. He is the director of Not Fashionable (the charity we are riding our bikes for). He is a lucky guy- he makes music, has a bike way above his riding level and has more flannel than a lumberjack. He loves Jesus- he loves you. He rocks a Fuji Feather and is a vegetarian (who eats junk food). Repping Harbour Church.
How to pray for this guy: that God would make him patient, that he would be wise enough to not worry about stupid things. He is trying to help people through art and music- pray for creativity.
Favorites: Rushmore. Arrested Development. Further Seems Forever. Kobe Bryant.
Travis Webster is the newest edition to the team. He is the swiss army knife of the gang. He plays golf, rides fixed gear bikes, runs a branding company (collideco.com) and is a happy husband. When he heard us talking about the trip he wanted in. Turns out this trip is basic for him- he rode his bike from Tampa to Atlanta (est. 23,000 miles, I think). Claims he learned to skid stop because if he didn’t accidentally do it he would have accidentally killed a guy in his 90’s. He is married to an awesome gal- they hang out together all the time- shes’ obviously a catch: she laughs at his jokes. He is rocking a bike from the 20’s, I believe.
How to pray for this duder: that He would continue to have a larger platform for spreading the things that God is doing all over our great country. Pray that good would continue to be in the dead center of his marriage and that He would continue to be a part of changing his new town, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Favorites: scarves and smart people. Culture and the shapers of it.
Dan Franklin. Due to the rarity of a Franklin appearance in a photo, this is an artists interpretation of the elusive love-monger known as Handsome Dan. Easily, the best rider of the group, we plan to exploit his ability to do handle bar spins and backwards loops. He is an Alley Cat champion and has the most awesome girlfriend in the world (speculation). Dan has a heart for helping the exploited and serves like an animal at City Church. His antics and latte art have elevated him to a c-list celebrity. He is normal dude listening to Jesus.
This guy needs prayer. Big time. Pray that his heart would continue to be naive in thinking that things can change. Pray that he doesn’t become like me and worry about everything.
